The CO.NL Operator is glad to announce the opening of the Go Live period
Application requests can be made by the general public without any restriction or priority rights, and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. As usual, a local presence in the Netherlands is not required.
CO.NL has engendered great interest from brand owners, companies and individuals. Sander Scholten, CO.NL General Manager, comments, “We are delighted by the results we have achieved and people’s engaged response to this new International extension. The .CO.NL is already seen as a successful alternative way to enter the Dutch market and position a brand or a company as part of the International community. The Go Live period is an opportunity for anyone to do exactly the same”.
The generic names and brands registered during the first phases are already active in the namespace, gathering a lot of International traffic and page views from Internet users. Scholten adds “The suffix “.co.” is used and understood in many addresses worldwide, which makes registering a name ending in .co.nl the right choice. Take advantage of the Go live period to get yours!”

The company adds that so far the available extensions for .MX domain names are the following: .COM.MX, GOB.MX, EDU.MX, ORG.MX and .NET.MX.

ICANN.org, announced today that RegisterFly has been ordered by US Federal Court Judge, Manuel J. Real, to hand over to ICANN current and accurate data for all of its domain names now that ICANN’s application for a Temporary Restraining Order against RegisterFly was granted on April 17, 2007.
According to a press release by ICANN, under the TRO, RegisterFly is to provide this data every seven days, also allow ICANN staff access to the company’s records and books in order to perform an audit. The Court has also scheduled a preliminary injunction hearing for April 26, 2007, which, if ICANN prevails, will extend the force and effect of the TRO for a longer period of time.
With current and accurate registrant data, ICANN will be in a position to initiate a bulk transfer to another registrar, either with RegisterFly’s cooperation while the company remains an ICANN-accredited registrar, or unilaterally if RegisterFly’s accreditation is terminated. Aside from the lawsuit, ICANN has also initiated a review of its Registrar Accreditation Agreement in an effort to reduce the possibility of this situation being repeated in future.
“We ask RegisterFly and its management to co-operate fully with the order,” ICANN President and CEO Dr Paul Twomey said.
